Seems like I need to jump through loopholes left and right. I already figured how to get a handgun legally. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get a Permit To Carry being under age 21. Anyone know of any loopholes? A friend of mine told me she got her Permit To Carry as a MINOR. Not sure if that is BS or legitimate.

No, no loopholes that I know of.

My friend's wife is a State Trooper, she got hired back before you had to be 21 to be a cop. She was 18, her parents had to sign for her to have a gun.

Ah, figured one out. Find a state that'll allow me to get my Permit To Carry AND that Minnesota honors..

Minnesota law seems pretty solid about me having to be 21 to get my PTC here.

I might be wrong, but I don't think there are any other states that allow carrying under 21, either. There may be exceptions to the law, though. When I was in high-school there was a guy who had his drivers license in freshman year, because his mother was crippled and it allowed him to drive her, and do everyday things. Not exactly the same thing, but you get the idea. There might be extreme cases where they'll give you your permit to carry underage.

Actually, Texas allows, but only for persons have served (or serving) honorably in the Military.

This cropped up in this year's febrile slatherings over the campus right-to-carry bill 9which was really no more than a modification of existing RTC, to include buildings).

The reason they would have reciprocity is if the req's were as strict or more strict.

Like for Nevada to honor Ariz, (or the other way around?) the one state had to add a qualification to the permit req. Then it was good.

For ex. NY wouldn't honor (besides the fact they dont honor ANYONE) NH because NH doesnt have any restrictions. Its CCC.

Idunno, try and make sense of my post.

Had a friend that started out that way. Under his then state law he was a sworn peace officer who wasn't allowed to purchase pistol ammunition in a store until he turned 21.

Was just hoping to get lucky. Guess I'll have to leave the gun at home until I'm old enough for the right to protect myself.

"...a state that'll allow me..." Still won't be legal in Minnesota.
Can't imagine anybody paying attention to an 18 year old cop.

Until about 2 years ago when the law changed MN had plenty of new 18 year old cops.
