Here's a novel idea:

There are a few states that won't accept my permit because Georgia doesn't have a training requirement. They're not concerned about the background checks it's the training. Wouldn't it be nice if you could get an endorsement from a state to carry on your home state's permit if you sent proof of training.

The AG's of Georgia and South Carolina have been working on a reciprocity agreement for some time but SC won't give in because of the training. I'd love to be able to just send a copy of my GA permit and training to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and get a little stamp or something.

Won't Utah's help you with that? I don't remember; its been so long since I checked what Utah gets us anymore.

It would but then I would have to go to Utah. I'm surprised SC doesn't work with Florida. I could get Florida real easy because I'm a vet.

Don,

To clarify, an applicant can acquire a Utah permit entirely by mail. Its not a matter of avoiding Utah, it just isn't a necessity.
