ADL= Model A, Deluxe
BDL= Model B, Deluxe
The difference between the two originally was that the ADL had a blind magazine, with a simple walnut stock. The BDL had a floorplate with a similar stock, but with a black forend and grip cap offset by black whiteline spacers.
The easiest way to distinguish is the blind magazine on the ADL, but it is not the only way. Yes, ADL's have been available with nice wood stocks, but never with the high-gloss AAA walnut monte carlo w/ black forend cap. AFAIK, the ADL's also lack the jewelled bolt.
As for synthetic stocked variants, I belive the BDL's are all stainless guns, while the ADL's are blued or parkerized.
There is also now the CDL, which is basically a BDL, but with an oil-rubbed stock instead of the thick, shiny varnish.
I never knew they made the 700BDL in Stainless
