ok i have a sigma 40 just acquired my ccl.. and now im looking for a holster but have no gun shop to try them close, so i have to order and hope i like it.. b ut here is stats im 6 foot 250lbs athletic with a small gut.. i mainly where athletic shorts and normal t shirts.. or baggy khacky shorts and a tshirt.. and during the winter a small lightweight jacket usually always.. my tshirts arent big they are rather snug.. it seems to be hard to see how im gonna conceal this without a wardrobe change or smaller gun ? any opinions or personal experience to point me in the right path towards an iwb holster?
 
a month ago i picked up a Cross Breed supertuck and i can conceal a fullsize 1911 no problem (after some adjusting and advice on here of course) with nothing but a T-shirt. for reference I'm about 6' and 200 lbs
 
I tried ITW and truly hated it. Just doesn't feel right and plain unconfortable for me anyway.
I either have to have OTW and I'm actually trying out a cheap belly band I ordered from Ebay with my Bodyguard 380 and like it so far. My friend has one for his Kahr P9 and also loves it. But of course your Sigma is bigger and heavier. ITW with a bellyband holster I would try it down low by your belly. The band only cost me $13 dollars shipped to my door. Adds almost nothing to the gun unlike all ITW holsters.

Sigma and Crossbreed = perfect IWB CCW

I've worn mine since i got my CCW and my wife doesn't even know when I'm CCW!

I'd like to get a little thinner gun - 260lbs, 40+ gut, but this set up works fine until I get my M&P 40C and 1911!

You won't go wrong with Crossbreed - quality stuff.

I also have a kangaroo shoulder harness. It was cheap and works great. Comfortable, but just isn't me...felt like a bra or something.

I've recently started carrying a glock 34 (yes 34) IWB using a back brace as a belly band holster w the gun velcroed in with one of the elastic straps.

At first it dug into my side. But after taking someone's advice and doubling up on t-shirts w the inside garment tucked into my undies it became quite comfortable in spite of being such a large handgun.

My size is a 36" waist 6'-3" at only 190 and using the above methiod a glock disappears
 
At some point, most folks that carry on the waist realize 2 things:
1. The pants need to be worn up on the waist, rather than halfway down their backside.
2. A sturdy belt (gun belt) can solve a few issues with IWB and OWB carry.
 
A sturdy belt is a necessity, whether for an IWB or outside the waist band holster. I have used an elastic belly-band holster without a belt when carrying under sweatpants or elastic waistband athletic shorts, but it's not particularly comfortable, for me, anyway.
 
I was in the boat as you. None of my local or driving distance gun shops carried a quality IWB holster, just the nylon velcro hosters that were not fitted to the weapon. I shopped around on the net and came up with two choices for my g27 which were the Cross breed and the Galco king tuck. I took a gamble on the Galco knowing that if I didnt like it it would go on ebay at a loss. I decided on the galco mostly due to the way the leather backing was cut. Crossbreed called it a combat cut and charged extra. I have had it for three months and so far I like it. I carry my g27 all day when Im off duty and it does not bother me. I dont know it it is due to me wearing my duty belt and have gotten use to the feel over the last six years. I have had to get some bigger shorts for it to fit and ended up with cargo shorts. I still perfer to carry OWB for ease of access. My g23 and g22 will fit in the holster as well but is less concealable. The inner backing of the galco is a soft leather and it does not rub or chafe. I carry it at about the 3:45 position.
 
Well, I'm 6'4'' and 170lbs, and have absolutely no trouble concealing a full size 1911 under a sweatshirt, flannel shirt, button up dress shirt, etc. Basically under anything other than a flat white T-shirt, I can ccw a full size 1911. Then again, I'm a slightly different build than you. :D :D Hope it works out for you.
 
Regardless of which holster you choose

you will probably need to change your wardrobe somewhat. I carry in a Milt Sparks VMII all day everyday. Icarry at churh while in a suit or while wearing a pair of shorts and t-shirt with a short sleeve shirt as a cover garment. I wear the cover shirt open but you could go without the t-shirt and keep it buttoned if you prefer. Some people can get away with just the t-shirt pulled over but you will likely need to go to a bigger size. The bottom line i9s you will need to dreess around the gun.
 
I carry my Colt Magnum carry IWB daily and I like..

the crossbreed holsters the best for that. You will have to try different ones as we all have different modes of dress and body build. Good luck
 
Also some clothing works better with certain holsters. I have several holsters for each handgun, and each is decided by how I dress. But some of those were experiments to see what works best, IWB or OWB, and shoulder types, and a couple of others.
 
IWB carry for me has always been my only choice. OWB never concealed enough for me to be comfortable doing it.

I have learned several things that apply to me about IWB carry of a full sized service pistol:

And that I can not comfortable carry a revolver IWB at all. The edges jab into me something fierce.

Lastly of all the holsters I've used I like the Crossbreed Supertuck that most. It is a pain in the butt to put on but it flat out works for anything but appendix carry.
 
Yea that's not.me.lol, see at work I work for sheriff dept so.I open carry, but my city has a no open carry law I have to conceal and I almost never where overshirts or anything.. might invest in a tcp or pocket pistol
 
I carry my sigma every day IWB. I use a Galco sto-n-go made for a Sig p229. Very inexpensive ($25), but nice quality holster.
You have to understand that you're not going to conceal a gun with a tight t-shirt unless you wear a cover garment, or go up a size. And if you're going to carry IWB, you'll probably want to go up a pant size. I wear a 34, but buy 36's so I can stick a gun in my pants.
 
I have a little bit of a love-handle issue right now, and IWB is a bit uncomfortable for me. I'm about 6" and 250 lbs.

I prefer OWB with a tucked in shirt and a light jacket/vest to cover.
 
I'm really new and don't know how to start a new post yet but my question is about IWB holsters. I've been experimenting with different carry positions with my IWB holster and my question is this: How do you sit down comfortably while carrying your gun just behind the hip at about the 3:30 to 4:00 position? I'm a small female with a Bersa 380. Any tips will be appreciated. Sorry if I have posted in the wrong place.
