Hello all;
I thought I would post some results of what I found my mossberg persuader 20" barrel did pattern testing various #00 2 3/4 federal rounds. All test were at 30' maximum distance for shots taken in my home. First was the Fed. prem. w/flight control wad and I was very suprised with almost no pattern, 2" max. To me a great campsite or outside the house load. Second was the tactical Fed. round and the pattern was a semi uniform pattern of 4-5". Third was the Fed. low recoil round with a 7-8" pattern that was also acceptable. Then I tested Remington 1 oz. slugs and Winchester 1 oz. HP slugs and found the Winchester slugs to be more consistant out to 25 yards. All rounds were 2 3/4 shells and IMO the low recoil federal shells in my gun are best for HD. I really see no need for 3" rounds in my home. Just thought I would share.

The factory barrel with cylinder bore and a bead for sights. I have removed the recoil pad and fitted a beretta plastic but plate I had due to my short arms and I didn't like the way the rubber hung up on clothing and I like the hard butt of a gun for strikes. I was suprised how tight the pattern held even out to 25 yards with the federal flight control wads,I did shoot a few of those to see how they would pattern a little futher out. A very good round in my eyes.
