Phoenix Police know if you have a CCW?

In TX your CHL is directly linked to your DL. During a traffic stop you don't legally have to inform a policeman you have a CHL but when they run your license they'll know and probably give you grief.

Garland cops would definitely not be amused - you'd get home to find a burning cross in the front yard and a bunch of 'necks with white pointy hoods on their heads.

It likely varies town to town and state to state how cops view people with CCL. For the wise cops pulling someone over at night they likely think "Well he/she has a CCL. At least they have a clean record and don't have a long record of drug dealing, muggings, rape, DWI, etc.; so this driver should be calm with them not trying to shoot or stab me."

Of course police are people too and some are just jerks to everyone they meet. As we saw in the Canton, Ohio mess recently.

"^^^ Good Lord!! You're overstating it just a bit... I hope. Garland surely isn't THAT bad."

There're not *that* bad. There are some, shall we say, 'over-enthusiastic' younger officers on the force. Ditto Keller. :)

In NC your CCW is tied directly to your DL, they have the same number and expiration date most times, and its a General Statute (GS) to declare to any LEO that youre a CCW holder when you come into contact with an officer whether youre carrying or not.

I'll agree about some younger officer being over zealous about whether or not you declare youre a CCW holder, sometimes people forget when they get flustered at the initiation of a traffic stop, or if you go to thier house on a call for service. Though I have run into a few people who didnt pay enough attention during the CCW class and had no idea they are obligated to declare that theyre a CCW permit holder.

Texas police departments know when they pull you over whether you're a CHL holder. Not sure about AZ but I'd be shocked if they didn't.

If you have a CCW in Arizona they do know upon running your plate or DL. But fortunately we don't need a CCW to carry concealed unless you walk into an establishment that serves alcohol and doesn't object.

I don't know if they do or not, but I do know that you shouldn't lie to the police when they ask you whether there's a gun in the car.
