Hey there and how's it going? The Miss's and I were at the local swap meet and I came across a older scope in its original box (without paperwork) It is marked Aloma, 4x32, coated,
No. 99407
I have tried researching the brand and so far have only come up with binoculars from the 60's with no mention of rifle optics.
Have any of you come across this brand of scope or know what price range they sold at?
if you have any knowledge I sure would like to know?

Doing some digging on the Aloma binoculars, it seems they are vintage optics made in Japan.

Long Beach Flea Market...Veterans Stadium..
Grew up in Arcadia ... Used to go visit the Queen Mary at Long Beach ... Memories. :p

That's all that I have come up with also..yet I have in my hand a scope with that name on it...go figure...

From my bit of looking, Aloma was based in Tokyo, and sold low budget binoculars and scopes in the 50s or 60s.

Still probably better than Tasco... :D

Edit: i did find a few other mentions of the scopes, people also curious.

Speaking of obscure Japanese scopes, I have a Red Arrow 4x32 that I bought on GB for $10.82 (including delivery) a few years ago. I have/have had Leupolds, Nikons, Burris, Sightron, Weaver, Clearidge, Vortex, and other brands, including some name brand 4x32s. I've compared most of them to the old Red Arrow at 4x, and it's as clear and pleasant to sight through as any of the above-mentioned scopes, actually better than some. I kept it on my CZ 452 Scout for a while, but finally put a Weaver Grand Slam 4-16x44 on the Scout because I almost always end up wanting more than 4x magnification when I go shooting.

The clarity of this scope is nice, but the extra fine cross hairs are what intrigued me, very simple and elegant, almost invisible...1" tube and nice eye relief...excited to mount it and see how she holds up under recoil...for being an unknown, I think I made out on this purchase at $20.
