Congrats! As EK stated you have rare gun. I own a Pietta Dance .36 SN C00013, and I believe most all of these came from the collection of Dr. Jim L. Davis.

I put together a short history of Dance revolvers as produced by both Pietta and Uberti on another forum courtesy of collected posts by Dr. Davis many years ago and current owners of specimens from his collection.

Hope this helps.

Mr. Texas moon, may i ask where you received such a find?

Originally I purchased this from a man near Angleton, Texas in a face to face deal about twenty years ago or so.
I've long forgotten his name but I do remember driving out to his home to get it.
Father-in-Law and I had gone to a lecture at the Brazoria County Historical Museum given by the author of the book about Dance revolvers. While there I learned about the reproductions. I purchased a signed copy of the Dance book while there.
Inquiring about the reproduction revolvers I was given a phone number. I called the man and we set up the meet.
I vaguely remember someone telling me this fellow had several of the revolvers for sale.
Gave the book and revolver to my father-in-law as birthday present.
Father-in-Law passed away a few years ago. Just the other day I was over at the mother-in-laws and she gave it back to me. The book is lost somewhere.
The gun was still in the original box wrapped in plastic as it was the day it was purchased. It is serial #94.
I did clean the gun as it was quite gummed up and appeared to have some light rusting in the bore.

Do you recall the name of the book or the author's name?

Thanks!

Jim

I see on October Country that a Dance .44 has been sold. Non-rebated cylinder.

Anyone here do the deed?

If so I sure would like to hear about with photos!

Jim
