I hopefully will get my first CZ for Christmas

I've kinda ruled out a RAMI because most likely this will be a range gun and a night stand gun

Just my thinking the compact CZ are fine because a 3.9 inch barrel i would think is fine for the range and the CZ compacts i think still have a capacity of 14 in 9mm

In compact would i be rght in thinking the choices are 75 Compact and P01?

The real differences being a P01 has NO manual safety and is a tad lighter because alloy instead of steel? Would this be correct?

Would you get the 75 Compact or the P01? It will be a range gun and a nightstand gun

Or any other CZ suggestion or idea is greatly welcome

Thanks

SP01 is nice for range and home use... the shadow is nice for a little more money with a sweet trigger and fibre optic sights.

The other compact you did not mention is the PCR, which has a decocker. I have a couple of Compacts and shoot them more accurately than the standard models. The shorter grip feels a bit tighter to my hand and that seems to make the difference. I tried a Rami but it just did not feel right. I do not have a P01 as I do not see the need to the rail. Would like to shoot one though to see how it handles. The Compact is my favourite shooter.

And the PCR compact, if you don't need the P-01's accessory rail.

Yes, the P-01 (and PCR) have frame-mounted decocking levers which revert the trigger back to DA, no manual safeties per se.

For that use, if it were mine I would go ahead and get a CZ75 BD (decocker) full-size. There is no particular need for a range/nightstand gun to be compact or lightweight.

the sp-01 has a compact version, the p01. It is only offered in decocker though, as was already said. I went with a SP-01 and it is sweeeet:)

I actually shoot better with the P-01 over my SP-01.

The P-01 seems to be custom tailored for me out of the box, it fits my hands like a glove.

I just did the paperwork and deposit today for a P-01. I've never shot a P-01 or 75B, but as so many other people have said on various forums, the P-01 seemd to 'fit like a glove'. Your mileage may varry.
Try to rent them if you can ( not able to do that in my area ) to help make up your mind. If you can't do that at least go and hold each to see how they feel.
Can't wait to get mine.

The p-01 will not dissapoint!! I LOVE mine! I prefer it to my duty SIG 229. I have 3 CZ handguns and prefer the p-01. The trigger only gets better with use. Right out of the box, the p-01 has a little bit of a rough trigger. Some dry-firing and about 200-300 rounds will fix it.
You made the right choice with the P-01! Did I mention that it is crazy accurate and reliable.

Get the original CZ75B. I find the balance and ergos of the original to be superior to the P-01 and SP-01. If you enjoy the 19+1 mags of the SP-01 I have heard that they fit just fine on the stock CZ75B.

more people will be buying the full-sized guns now.

A 75 SA would be ideal for a Range or Home gun.

If you must have a DA/SA gun, look at the new Phantom.
Lighter than the SP-01 but proving to be as excellent
so far.

Plenty of choices..see most of them at my CZ ZONE.

Thanks for thinkin CZ:)

I don't know man, I can get one hole shot groups at 25 yards W/ my RAMI......until I fire the second shot :D

Seriously I can consistantly hit center mass W/ my RAMI at 25 yards and I wouldn't consider myself under gunned W/ it on my night stand.

That said, there's really no such thing as a bad choice for a CZ. 40Bs can be had relatively inexpensively , or you could make us all jealous W/ a 97B.

Go to your local gunshop and drool over the CZ case you'll find a nice one in there.

What do people think of the CZ-100? I'm curious about the .40 Caliber Cz-100 with it's 10 round mag. (PRK issues)

Yeah

The CZ100 is generally regarded as a pretty neat little polymer pistol, except for the horrendously bad trigger. It is as bad as most people say. The first time I handled one, I thought it was broken.

Hello CZF,I hope you are well.So folks are buying the full size guns. Well as a lady shooter I still prefer a compact. Like the Rami 9mm and the PCR 9mm.

According to forums trends over the past 10 years or so.

As the winter sets in (most parts of the nation) people start to buy the bigger guns.

Spring and summer is where we see them buying the RAMI,
Compacts, and CZ83s.

Look for the RAMI activity to start slowing down.

Do all P01s have rails? Having the rail if you will never use it,is that a big negative?Or no biggie use it if ya wish dont if ya dont?

Thanks

Both the P-01 and the P-06 (P-01 in .40 caliber) come with a full length dust cover and rail.

The full length cover, as with the SP-01, helps to reduce muzzle flip and gives you the OPTION of adding "stuff". All plus no minus IMHO.

I keep a RAMI-P (10 and 14 round magazines) for the bedside table and take both the RAMI and the SP-01 to the range for fun and giggles.
