I'm looking to buy my first automatic pistol, which i will carry sometimes. I also want a gun the that is fun to shoot at the range. I really pefer a gun with a decock. I have been think about the CZ p-01, Sig p226 or 228 and the Ruger P95. the Xd and 24/7 are still in the running even w/o the decock. I want something kinda lite that is why i have not bought the P226, thats the only thing stoping me. Please tell me what you would buy even if it is not listed above and why. Thanks Guys

Personally I think the P226 is the best of the bunch you listed, for carry the P228 is it. Or you can look into the P225 which is a single stack P228 for better concealability and thinner grips.

I wouldn't think the SIG's would be that heavy anyways, since they're aluminum alloy frames. Its better than carrying around a all steel 1911 or an all stainless SIG P22xST! :D

+1 For the SIG, the 228 would be best. A H&K USP Compact would be worth considering as well. They have a decock lever too.

Which fits your hand best? Performance wise, can't go wrong with any of them.

Rent them all at the range or borrow from a buddy. Once you try them out, the decision will be obvious or at least significantly narrowed down. Buying guns without having tried them first is one of the main reasons for people selling NIB guns.

My vote is for the CZ PO1. Nice handgun. I own a couple of SiG 226's and find them nice but large in the grip. PO1 is a great shooter and easy to handle. The advice to look at HK is sound too. Buy the CZ and $300 worth of extras for the price of a nice P226.
