Pics of a new style wire shepherds hook, sorta reminds me of that retaining plate

This hook came in my WASR3. Is this a new pattern, or an old one? I nvr seen one like it..reminds me of that RSA retaining plate. Installing the safety through the "spring part" is the only tricky part, its got some pretty hard pressure on the pins.
