Ashley is my new ar-15 and I love it! She started life as a BCM middy upper and a spikes lower. The gunsmith installed his own goodies on the lower and gave it a trigger job. I also had a yankee hill flash hider, magpul moe grip, and matech 600 sight installed on it. I plan to get a front grip (tangodown stubby with polymer handguard mounts and a sling is on the way!

Nice stick. Was your lower stripped, or a complete unit from Spikes?

Because you asked, here's one of mine.

Did your gunsmith stake the castle nut? One possible notch on the castle nut isn't staked, can't see the other one.

Ashlee ifin he wanna go shutin.

Rail Driver, mind if I ask about those stocks? Makes it look like the longest barrel on a 1911 I've ever seen! I like it!

Thanks Skyler. I got a grip adapter from CTD for $25, added some custom double diamond 1911 grips and a magpul UBR.

The retro looking upper is an all colt 20" A1 upper, 1:12 for my .22 conversion kit. The other is an 18" rifle length 5.56 CMMG upper.

I'm looking to swap the 18" for a 16" middy with one of those Troy half rails if I can find one.

Saxon pig, I have a marlin 336 named martha and an ar named ashley. That's why lol

how do I tell if the castle nut was staked or not? What do I do if it wasn't?

Since we have to be careful about posting photos that don't belong to us, just do a Google search for "picture staked castle nut" and you will find plenty of photos that show what it looks like. It is a method used to secure the castle nut but displacing a small amount of metal to lock it into position. This is done rather than using thread locker, etc.

Sprice, you could PM TonyAngel or Azizza, I'm sure both have pics detailing a cns. Those two seem to know their ARs and the chart backwards and forwards.
