Im all for it !

I would really like to see a get together around this area . Im all in :)

i just picked up a new wheel gun so i would be very intrested, but i dont like bulls eye too much, i like the RFGC better, alittle quieter. but depending on what day i would be willing.

Renton Fish and Game Club

i don't work saturday-monday so im open any of those days and i get off work at 2pm the rest of the week so whenever is good for everyone else.

I hope to get out this weekend, but I'll likely forgo the formal ranges for Capitol Forest down near Oly.

Here's a pic of the menu from last summer:

Aw, darn--this would come up while I'm in "lean times". Marksman's my "home range" and I'm no longer dependent on rental iron--part of the reason for the budget-crunch, especially since for me a shoot means $100+ at a pop...

Maybe next time?

this weekend sounds good, what do the rest of you all think?

I just threw that out there, a day, time and location ?

i like renton and i can call them and them and make sure there will be room for the amount of people going. plus we can shoot some clays as well.

but if not if there is another outdoor range that is close to seattle/tacoma im willing to do a little driving. and i know i can get a few people to come with me.

Im game for anything in a 45-50 min driving from tacoma.

Im pretty much game for anywhere renton, marksman, etc

I say lets shoot at 1pm on Saturday. Place to be determinded. Everybody should check back here Friday.

45min drive for me is ok, I'm in NE Tacoma near Browns Point. Anyway, I've never been to Tacoma Sportsmans out in Puyallup, its a public range. Does anyone know how it is? How is RFGC? Is that the place where you can only load 1 bullet and shoot at a time? Also, I keep hearing about this Paul Bunyan place out by Tacoma Sportsmans. Any info on that?

Actually lets vote. Post the name of the place in either south King or north Pierce county that you want to shoot at on Saturday. Majority wins.

My vote = wherever, don't care

not t be a copy cat but

anyone pick a place and Im there at the time to shoot and chat

Ok Saturday's weather forecast isn't looking that good. I'd say lets just go to BullsEye. Lets meet there at 1pm. If you haven't been there before, you can park in the parking garage across the alley if their small parking lot is full. The range is upstairs. I will just ask people standing there if they are THR members, so I know who you are. I will have my blue Mariners hat on.

Looks like I got another person to go. I asked my dad if he wanted to go and he said yes. Oh btw this is an indoor pistol/shotgun/rimfire range if you haven't been here before.

Mainsail: Can you just ... go in to the forest and shoot? :) like the idea of forgoing formal ranges when possible! When I lived in WA, the only place went shooting was the indoor range near a friend of mine, somewhere in or near Arlington, WA.

If you're going to Bullseye, be mindful of the parking restrictions around the side streets and parking lots. As NWdude said, use the parking garage if the lot is full, and it probably will be. Some of the business owners are less than bashful when it comes to towing cars from their lot, especially when they see the driver head off toward the range with a gun case in hand.

Also, for those who have not been to the area before, I strongly urge you not leave anything of value in plain view. Do not leave firearms or ammunition in your car. This area of downtown Tacoma has a high vehicle prowl rate. Sure, it's by the Tacoma Dome, but there's a lot of foot traffic and a lot happens in that part of town. Trust me on this. I'd hate to see anyone lose something valuable, especially if you're from an area where you can leave things in your car and have them there when you return.

If you guys want to set up a time in a few weeks I am a memeber at Paul Buyan sportsmans club and I run a steel match the 3 sunday of every month but I have access to the IPSC range anytime except when there is match I would be willing to set up a day to have some of you guys out we can set up some steel and have some fun......

hotwheelz that would be awsome.

im going shooting today as well, but not gonna make it to the meet only because im burned out on indoor ranges because of the lack of range i can shoot. anyways im heading out to RFGC this afternoon with my brother-inlaw as well as all my guns. so if anyone wants to meet us out there they are more then welcome.

give me a call so i know who is comming and i can make room. PM me for my number.

I got there at 1pm and asked if anyone was from THR. Nobody answered, so I waited around for 10 minutes. I was on a waiting list, so I then went downstairs to look at guns for 10-15 minutes. Went back upstairs and waited another 5-10 minutes to shoot.

sorry bout that NWDUDE!

The wife took all day at the wonderful wrld of IKEA and wally world but willing to attend the next meet and shoot planeed , I think I just read something about a get together at paul bunyan may be in the works

There is a common shooting pit in Capitol Forest, in fact you cannot step without trodding upon spent shell casings and shotgun hulls. It can get a little crowded at times but it’s as safe as any indoor range. It’s down off Waddell Creek Road, I can give you directions if you want. There’s another spot, a better one in my opinion, off Rt 8 on Simpson Lumber land. I’m going there tomorrow after I exchange some scope rings at Cabela’s.

There are no restrictions on shooting in Capitol Forest, other than the normal safety rules like being sure of your backstop.

I'd really appreciate that! By private message or email (timothylord AT gmail DAHT com) would be best -- you mean there are still places in the world where shell casings get left on the ground? :) In that case, I better bring a bucket with me to reduce the pollution ;)
