Pietta 1851 G & G ?

Did Pietta use different trigger guards (brass) and back straps on the 36 cal 1851 s and the G & G?

Not that I'm aware of. Of course, some of the dimensions could have changed over the course of the years.

I'm confused maybe the grip portion of the trigger guard got bent? But the grip has the same contour up front?

Tom, I responded on theThumper's Lair thread.

The TG is for an 1860. That's why it won't line up with the 1851 BS.

So should I just pick up a 1860 backstrap or should I swap out the trigger guard for a 1851 ?
Did not know a 1860 came with a brass frame, trigger guard and backstrap.

Found a 1851 trigger guard, was sent a 1851 backstrap and grips so that helps, just a couple of more parts and hopefully I'll have a shooter.
