Pietta vs. Uberti

Not that I really needed another, but I found a Uberti 1858 in beautiful shape at a friendly price and could not resist. My experience has been with modern production Pietta revolvers, and this is a 1995 Uberti. What should I expect as far as differences?

I believe that Ubertis of that era were pretty decent. It's a Remington 1858 nma so you don't need to worry about the Uberti short arbor syndrome.

I recall someone posting that Uberti changed their trigger guard in recent years so that the newer one won't fit the older models.

It may like lead balls a tad larger than piettas but otherwise you should be GTG with the Remington. Is it a NMA or a navy?

Its a NMA. I bought a .454 mold for the Pietta, so hopefully that does the trick for the Uberti as well.

None. Before Pietta went CAD/CNC, Uberti was arguably a little better with internal parts, but since the 90s six of one, half dozen of the other. Check cylinder throats vs bore as usual and enjoy!
