I heard on the radio today that there is a company manufacturing gun oil that has trace amounts of pig oil in it. They want to market it to U.S. soldiers. The theory is that any muslim shot by a bullet from a gun lubed with this oil will be tainted in the eyes of Allah and no longer be "pure" thus forfeiting their martyr status and the 72 virgins they get when they go to Allah. Thought that was pretty funny/clever. There's got to be a way to get this news into the international muslim community, I bet they'd love it

American ignorance of non-Christian religions is astonishing. I really appreciate the fact that there are companies willing to profit by misleading US soldiers that somehow pig-tainted oil will have any affect on the people they are fighting. Why don't we sell them some Second Chance Zylon vests and tell them they will stop incoming rounds for which they are rated.

It is largely an American-Christian belief that Muslims who touch pig products won't go to heaven and see Allah. It is based on the folklore of Pershing supposedly pouring pig blood on Islamists in the Philipines after they were killed. The event is not actually documented as there is no actual record of this. Additionally, until somebody can present the passage that actually says a Muslim can't come in contact with pig parts or fluids in the Koran, then I have to believe that basically the company selling tainted oil is just selling oil that is going really stink badly after it gets a chance to heat up in the desert.

Pershing isn't exactly remembered in history for his vast knowledge of non-Christian religions. Heck, he isn't even known for his knowledge of Christianity!

Maybe we can sell magic spells to our troops as well. That will help just as much.

I guess they didn't read the Koran, because it mentions (Like the Old Testament) that willfully and/or knowingly touching or ingesting porcine products keeps you out of heaven. There are provisions for if someone tricks you or if you are starving to the point of it being life-threatening, you may eat it and perform some sort of penance later. I don't know the exact Sura and verses that say this anymore. AFAIK, nowhere is it stated in the Koran that a jihaddist will get 72 virgins (or a 72 year old virgin ) attending them in heaven. Must be some thing the Wahabbist imams dreamt up. Similar to the Mideval Catholic Church, they don't want their flock going to the actual source to get answers, they tell them whatever furthers their agenda. And the Wahabbist agenda is a worldwide Calaphite consisting of only Muslims. No Dar-al Harb or Dar-al-Sulh. The only option they would offer to non-Muslims is convert or die.
Back OT, the oil would only scare the most ignorant of Muslims, and like DoubleNaught Spy said, stink worse than WD-40!

The old testament does not say touching a pig will make a person unable to enter heaven. It makes them ritually impure, which was not a huge deal.

And what better way to fight the war on terror than to create massive 'disaffected' swaths through the domestic population. Even through the very Army which must use these products. Reading stuff like this, and how it has a roughly 30-45% general acceptance rate, in America; in less-adapted-to-immigration Europe I can only imagine what the general sense is. :banghead:

Of course the Army won't but it of course it's just a myth. The only question I have is whether it's the actual TERRORISTS spreading this atrocious rumor, or domestic jerks who can be depended on to incidentally further terrorist agendas through their own (expletive) ways.
