I recently puchased a Browning Buckmark Camper
5 1/2 ss.

What Id like to know is what do you use and Why?
Ive been using CCI Stingers and wonder if this is incorrect
ammo for pistols.

I also have have a P22 that works well with CCI stingers,
But yesterday the P22 had an episode where one round uppon firing
Blew up, alittle bit of stuf hit my face (no injury)and the case was half
way out of the chamber. I cleared the pistol and checked for obsruction
in the barrel ,it was clear. The case however was trashed.
I reloaded and continued to fire error free.
This was the only time something like this has happend with the p22.

Was this due to incorrect ammo or just a bad round?

the wal mart bulk stuff kills cans and whistle-pigs as good as the nicer stuff, but doesn't shoot as flat for 80 to 100 yard pop-shots, but still is accurate ;)

She'll eat it all, and be accurate doing it.

My Buckmark did not like Walmart bulk packs at all. I had at 1 FTE per magazine and sometimes more. It was 100% reliable with CCI mini-mags so that's what I used in it...

It's not incorrect ammo unless it's got a "match" chamber or the manufacturer otherwise says Stingers are not recommended. It does have a little longer brass than other .22LR, and is one of the hottest. I don't use it much myself as it's too expensive and not as accurate as other ammo I've tried. CCI Mini-mags are my go-to .22LR ammo, with Federal Champion bulk pack in second place. Any Remington rimfire ammo is out of the question for me - I've just had too many misfires and inconsistencies from it to bother with it anymore.

It sounds like your problem was an isolated incident, but I'd make sure the pistol is good and clean. You had a ruptured case, which could have been caused by firing slightly out of battery, or just a weak case.

I also have the BM camper in SS and shot a couple hundred rounds through it today. I like the Mini Mags alot, but they are a little pricy. Federals I had were good, but lead bullet is a little dirtier, American Eagle has a reasonably priced copper coated bullet. decent price. I think its a very good pistol and fun to shoot.

I got a 617 10 shooter w/6 inch Bbl. at the same time I
got a 625 .45 ACP 5" Bbl. - about the same sight radius and
weight. The 617 is great for DA practice or precision SA.
I'm working my way through a brick of CCI Blazer HP & another
brick of Rem. solids. oH, I also had one box of 50 of Stinger
I found from the 80s that got shot up.

The 617 unlike autoloaders isn't too choosy shoots em all
well.

I do have a want for a .22 LR Advantage Arms .22 LR
conversion kit for my 1911 - it may be picky but whatever
it doesn't like will be fed to the 617.

I found most .22LRs to be finicky about what ammo is the best for extreme accuracy but for general purpose plinking and target shooting most the cheap stuff works fine.
