I have been reading through some old post in the archives and was wondering how many of the ministers here carry while they are preaching and during the actual service? IF you know of a minister who carries please tell us.

If you know tell what kind of weapon and holster rig is used. Mine is a Smith and Wesson Model 586(.357MAG 4in barrel) in a El Paso Saddlery Tom Threepersons holster and a matching belt in plain black finish.

Dunno the validity, but rumor has it Preacher does not allow loose change in the coffers, and he "rolls" in a very unique pulpit. New special pulpit replaced the custom golf cart... cart just didn't go with the decor...

I teach (outside of a church service setting) Christian apologetics and philosophy to laypersons and ministers alike on a regular basis, and I also spend time behind the pulpit at least 20 times a year (assistant pastor).

Yes, I do carry at all times. My current carry is a Glock 36 or a Taurus M85B, both carried in a very simple Uncle Mike's IWB at approx. 4 o'clock.

I am a very outspoken Constitutionalist and 2nd Amendment advocate (in both my lectures, my sermons, and my books) so it comes as no surprise to those who know me that I do carry for family, friends and personal defense. Other than my close family (in the spiritual and physical sense) no one else knows that I carry . . . except for the readers of this forum. As I posted in the "Do You Carry In Church?" thread, I take great pains not to advertise or print in any way because I would prefer not to be known primarily as a "Pistol Packin' Preacher" but as a servant of the Lord Jesus and His Gospel (first, foremost, and without rival) who also supports and exercises the God-given right of self defense and the defense of other innocents.

I'm a bivocational minister and when I'm not preaching I'm working in trauma medicine. I carry when I preach when I'm wearing a suit ...I just about always wear a suit. My primary carry is 1911 .45 or 9mm, BUG is 22lr.

Two of the biggest civilian customers my favorite gunshop has are two religious leaders... And one of them is supposed to be pretty wickedly good with handguns.

Preacherman is prohibited from carrying firearms while he ministers to his flock, more's the pity.

(If you didn't know, Preacherman's ministry is in a high-security prison.)

I'm ordained through the Universal Life Church, www.ulc.org ,it takes about ten minutes but it can come handy. I've only done one wedding, which was in a university chapel, but you better believe I was packing. 24/7.
