Just picked up 2 Lyman Uniformers- #7810215 Large, #7810218 Small. It says that there is a difference in pocket depth between pistol and rifle... but I don't know which these are! The small seems to fit in the small pistol cases I have and rest on the shoulder. Is there really much difference in depth between pistol and rifle?

not just depth. its the size in diameter. take for instance. Lee makes a pocket primer cleaner that has on one side the pistol and the other rifle. the width is wider on the rifle than the pistol.. So if yours fits id say your safe.

Large pistol and large rifle primers are the same diameter, but different in length, so the primer pockets are different depths. That's what the instructions are talking about, the depth of the primer pockets.

Small pistol and small rifle primers are the same size in both dimensions. That's why you're able to use small rifle primers in hot pistol loads, such as 9x23, etc.

Hope this helps.
