I am looking for records in pistol shooting in accuracy. Example 50 yard 1 inch group. I am looking for difference between pistols and revolvers. I was having a coversation the other day about pistols and the way they shoot and the person I was talking to is dead against them. Revolvers can shoot faster and more accurate than pistols. Can any body help me out with info on pistol and revolver records.

Bob Munden has done incredible things with both. I've seen him on TV shooting an asprin at 100 yard with a revolver and an auto. Now, he doesn't always hit the 1st try but it's impressive none the less ;)

A more relaistic question would be "How much does it cost to make them equals in accuracy?"

Just watch Jerry Mickluk (sorry for the incorrect spelling) for revolvers.
Watch Rob Letham for autos.

Both will make your jaw drop at how fast and accurate they can shoot, and how fast they can reload.

Wonder if they've ever shot against each other? I would love to see that!

Yes, those top dudes come up against each other in head-to-head competition sometimes. At the Second Chance bowling pin shoot some time back, I saw Leatham, Miculek, and Ken Tapp in a "man-on-man-on-man" shootoff once, if memory serves. Sorry, don't remember who won! I do remember another time up there, right after Jerry had married into the Clark family, using a tricked out 1911 on the pins. (Hey, that's not such a bad way to keep the in-laws happy, huh? ;) ) Humorously--well, for the spectators---the gun was choking on the pin loads sometimes. Saw Jerry angrily clear a bad jam, then take off the two top deck pins (four+ feet apart, BTW) with two shots that sounded about like one! After he calmed down later, I asked him about that feat, and he SAID he couldn't do it again on a bet. Either way, it was truly a jaw dropper.
