Just was reading a thread with references to having a pistol in a nightstand, etc. For those who have a pistol handy in the bedroom - what do you do with it when no one is home? Do you move the weapon to your safe in case your house is broken into and the bad guys can find your weapon? Maybe you always carry the weapon?

My handguns are locked in a steel case when I'm not home. If it matters, they're usually locked in the steel case when I'm there too.

We have an alarm system when we are gone for part of a day or just a few days. When we are gone for longer, we still set the alarm but also "hide" the weapons. It will take them so long to find them that, with the alarm system going off, they probably won't stick around long enough to discover them.

My HD gun stays locked up and mounted to my bed frame. When the bed is made it is covered by the bedspread. It is also pretty secure being constructed from 3/16" (7 ga) steel plate and bolted with lock nuts on the inside of the safe.

My safe is key operated, in my bedstand. When I leave home, I leave it in there. I figure that a thief can grab the box and run with it if they want, at least my own gun won't be easily pointed at me if I come home mid-theft.

I'm so glad you replied to this thread.

My previous post, about my bedstand safe, is about a Winchester brand safe that I bought years ago - it had a battery-operated pushbutton lock that malfunctioned after about a year. Now it it only key-operated - which works, but not well in a stressful situation.

I think I'm going to purchase one of your fine products with my next paycheck - i've heard really good things but couldn't remember your name or your product's name!

Thanks for your comments on what you have heard about our handgun safes. We have sold to quite a few THR members and would welcome the opportunity to add you to that list.
