I have bought two pistol kits from Mid South. For me it was very rewarding to build them. I really like the Lyman. With 50 grains of powder it snorts about like a .44 Mag and is very accurate.
I did make a mistake and accidentally sanded off the Warning Read Instruction Manual.
(The instruction manual was actually quite good and in English)
Mykeal posted an accurate description of how to brown barrels on this site and I used that information to do that part of the build.

PS I found the Lyman GPR, also a .54, at Shooters Warehouse in Orchards, Washington for $300 and I built it as a Kit. It is a Great rifle and says so on the barrel. (It too is missing the warning).
