Hi;

I'm considering the purchase of a .38 Super Auto pistol that can also reliably fire 9x23 cartridges.

I've already looked the EAA Witness, and I would like to know if there are any other .38 Super pistols that can handle the higher chamber pressures? Also, I don't have the budget for a custom 1911- need to keep it under $700.

I honestly want something a little more modern than a star, say a Taurus PT 38s, or a RIA 1911 in .38 Super.

What are you doing with this firearm... the bullets are too damn pricey for the performance you get out of them. But thats just my 2 cents hehe

I plan on using it for IDPA style shooting, and I'll be handling most of my ammo. I'd still like to ability to shoot .38 Super. Out here, it's less expensive than .357sig, and is marginally popular with the local competition shooters.

I recently sold a .357sig p226 since I've grown tired of of the SIG bulkiness and trigger action. I liked the round, but I'd rather have something that easier to reload with minimal case trimming.

I know 9x23win is a fringe caliber, but I'd appreciate any feedback about a new production 9x23 range pistol.
