So, is it possible for your plastic guns and metal guns to get along, or is that a non-chance for societal harmony in your safes/lives?

I'm a metal guy BUT I do own 1 piece of plastic (LCP) so at the risk of being a hypocrite it's still metal only UNLESS it fits in the pocket. ;)

Any competent engineer in any field uses the appropriate material, considering strength, cost, weight, producability, etc. No one would build a highway bridge from bubble gum, but I wouldn't want to chew on steel (plus, getting that bubble is really tough).

Everything plastic that I've seen gets brittle as it ages. I'll stick with all steel and that is getting hard to find.

Not all plastics do this, while some metals do. It depends on the specific case, and the types of plastic generally used in firearms are exceptionally stable.

I have one of many that is "plastic" lower -- it is odd but OK. I don't need to carry a big gun so plastic doesn't matter to me. But I have fired Glocks and don't hate them.

I've got examples of both kinds (though more metal than plastic, truth be told), and am happy that I do. Variety is the spice of the gun rack, after all.

Polymer vs Steel

I like both. Leaning towards revolvers atm.

Every time this subject gets brought up I think about Boris from the movie Snatch, "Heavy is good, heavy is reliable. If it doesn't work you can always hit them with it."
