Plated Bullets in .30 Carbine

My LGS has some plated bullets in for the .30 Carbine at a very good price. Has anyone tried plated in this caliber? My concern is that at such high velocities the plating can come off and leading will occur. This may be a silly question, but I have zero experience with plated in any caliber. But I have had to remove lead from my Rossi .357 levergun and it was a pain to get it out of the longer barrel compared to my revolver. Thanks in advance for any assistance/advice you guys can provide.

At the moment Berry's (major plated manufacturer) has the increasingly common "We are overwhelmed and not taking orders so our website is temporarily disabled!" exclamation when you hit "Products", but I recall they have advisory info for their 30 Carbine bullets about not pushing them past a certain velocity (1900 FPS?).

Unless I'm confusing them with another bullet maker's website.

I know people use both plated and lead in carbines, so it can be done without problems. Just have to get the right load data to keep your velocity under a certain level.

The Hodgdon loading data (covering Winchester and IMR powders as well) gives no loads for plated bullets. Then again, the only data I recall seeing for plated bullets was for Ramshot/Western powders. And they don't have any plated data in 30 Carbine.

Xtreme and Berrys both make great plated bullets for the 30 carbine. I use them all the time with AA#9

I'm shooting Berry's plated in .30 carbine using .357 lead bullet pistol loads. Also shooting them in 30-30. No problems with them at all.

Berry's plated .30 Carbine bullets have extra thick plating on them, and are rated for 1900-1950 fps. As long as you don't break the plating during seating, they work well.

You won't Have any problems running plated through your Carbine. I've pushed lead, cast from wheel weights to 1400 fps through my 1944 Indland with minimal leading and ran thousands of plated at 1900 fps. Just make sure to slightly flare the case mouth enough to hold the bullet, this will prevent you from stripping off any plating.
