Here a couple of photos taken in my back yard in Sinton, Texas during 1944. Note the "home made" weapons!! (Plus a couple of BB guns). The twin barreled "machine gun" was made from an old muffler with one end and the outer casing removed.
We also dug a large fox hole in the yard and spent many a happy hour repelling assaults by the Krauts & Japs. We won every battle!!!!
BTW, That's my sister on the far left side of the lower photo. She was unimpressed!
We would dig through the trash at the local and Chevy Ford dealers and scrounge for material for our projects. We made firecracker pistols out of water pipe that could shoot a ball bearing through both sides of a 55 gallon steel drum!!
Ah, the good old days!!!!! What fun......
