Found some Sierra Tipped Game Kings (TGK) for a decent price and ordered some 90gr for my 243 and some 130gr for the Creedmoor. Haven't shot the 243 yet but my M18 Mauser likes the 130's. So far I have tested them on a couple of does. One was 50-60 yards. I took her at the point of her shoulder and it exited behind the off shoulder. She made it about 30 yards, but I will never know how. She left a blood trail that a blind man could follow. The exit hole was the size of a golf ball with the top of the heart and arteries gone.

The second one was 125 yards broadside. Once again the top of the heart was gone and a large area of lung mushed. That one hit the ground hard and never moved. Exit hole was about the size of a golf ball with the off shoulder demolished. These bullets are about the equivalent of a Nosler BT in upset. Fast expansion. I was pushing it with 40 grs of R 17.

That sure sounds like you’ve found a keeper! Two deer down with almost identical results is sweet news any day of the week .

Post a pic of two if you have any, we’d love to see your results :).

Stay safe.

That sounds similar to the
123 AMAX in 6.5x55. small entry with 1-1 1/2" exit.

I was just going to ask if anyone had experience with the tgk/game changers! I have a box of the 90gr to try with rl-16 in my .243. This is great news, exactly what I was hoping to hear about results on game! Thanks!

I am guessing that the 90gr will make a mess. I shot a bambi a couple of years back with a 90 gr BT and it ruined the whole shoulder and bloodied the whole ribcage on that side. I don't see much difference between the TGK and the BT.

So you're thinking they might "over expand"? You think they're good deer/antelope bullets?

I recovered a 130gr 6.5 bullet from a yearling today. The bullet completely ruined a shoulder and half of the rig cage. It mushed the paunch, made a heck of a mess inside and stopped under the hide on one ham. Held together good. Weighed 82 gr. I was impressed that it stayed intact after ruining that shoulder.
