Paranoid much?

What happens when you go to other firearm manufacturer websites? What happens when you try to go on The High Road?

Unless you get a warning similar to the original poster's, you have absolutely no basis for your claims.

If you uncheck "block reported attack sites" under Firefox options you can get there.
You go right ahead and do that - to me, a forum just isn't worth the headache of running a full virus scan (which on my computer can take several hours)
If your antivirus doesn't catch stuff on it's way in, you should really find another one.

O'course, you could always switch to linux (or buy a Mac) and not worry about such things. . .

Stop, please, just stop. It's not some kind of anti-gun conspiracy. Declaring everything little thing that doesn't go right for a gun site as some kind of anti-gun effort just makes us all look bad.

Notice the last part:
How did this happen?

In some cases, third parties can add malicious code to legitimate sites, which would cause us to show the warning message.

The owner of the site needs to clean up whatever is causing this.

+1

Google does not decide which sites are a threat or not. Last year, Google declared every site everywhere as a malicious site, including it's own.
http://blog.makezine.com/archive/2009/01/google_says_every_site_is_now_malwa.html

Here's why it happened (programming error):
http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2009/01/this-site-may-harm-your-computer-on.html

But the reality is that they do not make the decisions on which sites are harmful or not.
Google flags search results with the message "This site may harm your computer" if the site is known to install malicious software in the background or otherwise surreptitiously. We do this to protect our users against visiting sites that could harm their computers. We maintain a list of such sites through both manual and automated methods. We work with a non-profit called StopBadware.org to come up with criteria for maintaining this list, and to provide simple processes for webmasters to remove their site from the list.

So saying that Google has decided to single out one firearms forum and declare it evil is preposterous. The reality is that Google is looking out for those who use their search engine and do what they can to prevent viruses and malicious content from infecting your computer...and they do it for you for free.

@Babarsac

ubuntu FTW! :D

Some of these things i.e. viruses and trojans IF they are there could ride in on the banner adverts. they now have. I however have not had a problem that I am aware of.

S&W forum was a good idea. However, I experienced some "poison" people there, who were very rude, and the moderators did nothing to keep those long time forum members and instigators from harassing some new members. Perhaps they "infected" the site, and a virus resulted. THR is a much nicer place to be (for me). The idea of a S&W dedicated site is nice, but management can make or break a website.

Internet explorer
Windows 7
custom built I7 system (built by me)
Custom installations of all software (done by me)
Propiratary programs to eliminat viruses, trojans, keep out hackers. (done by me)
I look at computers the same way I see my firearms, Know what the hell you are doing! Don't depend on someone else for your safety!

Yeah, that old "Glock v. .45" thing is really get'n to be a drag!!

I'm not a member there (too many fanboys and......it's boring) but I've lurked there for years.

I too liked it better under the former owner. The current owner added all kinds of advertising (maybe thats where the malware comes in) begs for money constantly and added like 15 moderators.

I think there are more moderators there than members these days. This is a much better board. TJ

True. And the banner at the top of the page isn't his. It's a requirement of using the free software that he uses. For the longest time when you logged onto the site, you first saw a dating site for Russian women. Handejector (the new owner) said there was nothing he could do about it.
