...and let him know how you feel about him adding a hostile ammendment to SB 1102 allowing for Constitutional carry. The ammendment added almost certainly will kill the bill, as it looks to target citizens at gunshows from selling to an illegal alien. It's not the citizen! It's the criminal that needs to be targeted!

Also, we had a set of 3 turncoat Republicans (remember, they are not always our friends), who voted for this ammendment to pass, and if one had not the ammendment would not have gone through.

Amends the misconduct involving weapons statutes to include selling or transferring a firearm at a firearms show without requiring the purchaser of the firearm to show proof of citizenship. The proof of citizenship required is the same proof that is required for a person to vote.

A violation of this section is Class 4 Felony.

Provides that this section does not apply to a firearm exhibitor that requires a background check.

So it's a proof of citizenship requirement for personal sales of firearms at gunshows.

It's already against the law to sell a gun not eligible. Why the need for a new law? Why just gunshows?

Just gunshows because that is integral to the gun community. I'm sure it also applies outside of gunshows, but that's my concern, they targeted the gunshows.

The law already covers this anyway so the legislation is pointless posturing. Since it can't do any real harm to gun owners we could pull out all the stops in opposing it and not have to worry about being "nice".

The amendment makes it a felony for a private seller to sell to legal resident aliens. They are allowed to own firearms, according to the ATF.

The amendment turns honest gun owners into felons.
