The next time some anti-gunner stares at me in surprise (you like guns?!) I want to try saying this:

"YOU are a gun nut, aren't you? I say gun, you go nuts. :p "

what do you all think?
 
Yeah, they probably wouldn't get it...I just go Gribble on them, squint and say..."That's what the government wants you to think...."

I think I'll reserve that for next time I'm referred to as a gun nut. Then that anti might get it. ;)
 
i love the anti-gun folks that have no idea what they are talking about. it was really funny because at my college there was this girl i worked with that was against guns 100% yet never even touched one. i was telling her what i had and she asked if i had them registered and i told her it wasn't.
a professor who happens to be the mayor of the city as well was in the room, and she quickly turns to him and says, you should have this guy aressted for not registering his gun. he looked at her and said "none of mine are registered either" and she about flipped out. and he politley said you're not living in Nazi Germany.

this whole situation was a shocker since i went to a liberal arts college and i got a lot of dirty looks from the profs when i wore my HK T Shirts.
 
No! The only thing that works is, politely tell them you are not a nut. Then, politely, ask them if you can take them shooting. If they say no, ok, then say anytime you'd like to try shooting, just ask. Still, be polite. Polite works every time. You come across as a gentleman and that is terribly important.
 
What Sunray said... after all, we're all carrying around some bogus beliefs on some subject. You'd be surprised at the number of people who aren't familiar with Bowhead whale lifespan and its importance to anti-cancer research...
 
I don't guess it would help to point out to them that fear of inanimate objects is a mental illness :D or to push further and remind him that to be anti-gun is to be PRO-RAPE:what:
 
i had another good situation like that.

we were in my history class talking about the 2nd amendment.

the prof asked. what the 2nd amandment meant to whoever wanted to answer. so i raised my hand and calmly stated, that it means that i should just be able to own most any weapon that i choose, and not have to worry about someone being upset by that. or wanting me to register what i own.

he asked then asked if we should be allowed to carry concealed weapons(which we can't in ohio) i stated. absolutly that's what "bear arms means to me.

he said well what about fully automatic machine guns, i said absolutly.
he asked what about a cannon or even a tank, i said sure.

now people in the class are looking at me like i am crazy. (lots of crazy liberals at this school remember) he looked at me and said man this is great you and i need to tag team against all these anti-gun people around here sometime.

i found it to be kind of fun being a conservative at a liberal arts school. when they protested the war (about 150 student) i protested them alone and the news crews were more intersted in me than them.
 
I can only hope that I find a professor like you did. I would giggle with glee after I extolled my views on the 2nd.

While I am hesitant to say that one can own an RPG or a tank because I cant really see a reason to own one, I still think it applies under the 2nd. My answer would have "as long as they are NOT used in an unlawful manner" (like killing non-believing liberals or something) after my answer. The part in parenthises(sp?) would not be included in the answer.

yes, it's very important to be extra nice to those who would seek to make you and your loved ones defenseless and seek to destroy that right that's god given....
