I've got a stainless SA TRP (not the operator) waiting for pickup (in three days). I'm telling you, I had a hell of a time choosing between the Kimber Gold Combat Stainless, the SA TRP Stainless, and the Sig GSR.

I've eliminated the Kimber.

I'm wondering if the GSR might be a safer bet than the TRP. Neither is a Valtro, but please help me pick the best value.

I picked the Colt Gunsite Pistol. :) Sweet. Never thought I'd spend that much on a firearm, but I'm enjoying it so far.

Sig GSR is still having teething problems. I have shot one owned by a friend. There are other good shooters with fewer problems available.

I had a good Springfield and sold it. Customer service is usually good as reported by those needing it. Mine did not need it. Sold to a friend as I have too many 1911 style guns at the moment.

My advice is buy only one 1911 learn to shoot it. Stick with it until all the bugs are worked out. Then shoot it over and over again. This is the least expensive way to enjoy 1911s in my experience including the spending of thousands of dollars for this knowledge.

If you have the money, then buy, buy by.
