We just had a very successful Rally FOR America last weekend and about 3 to 4 thousand people showed up (in our town of 1800).

The local radio station wgmd.com facilitated several of us to get the word out last Tuesday morning and then dozens, then hundreds of folks helped.

Here is one of the articles about our Rally.

Now, we are looking to get some of the web sites or discussion forums, etc. where we can send letters of encouragement and pictures to our troops. This will be just me and the local radio station that will filter and then send the messages (so that we don't get any anti-American postings).

Please post here the many ways we can get the good news of support out to the troops, families and patriots who are so important to our national strength, status, freedom and liberty!
:D :D

Well, on Monday I sent beef jerkey to Son Tao and Spectre (John Shirley). Does that count? I'd send Shiner Bock ale, the official drink of TFL, but dunno where to find it here.

Hey folks, can we compile a list of TFL and THR folks with the intent on sending them THR care packages?

Baby wipes would be a blessing for the forward deployed type troops.

Us Remfs get regular showers. Actually I was able to get online and post to my favorite forum last time I was deployed (last year).

do we have any specific THR people serving? i figure help them out first, then to the other servicemen or women. lets get some names, i'm all for helping them out

I am obviously missing something. Could baby wipes not be placed in MRE as part of the condiment pack? Seems to me those condiment packs have a little of everything in 'em.

The MRE packs come with a small towlette. Not big enough for anything but wiping your hands. Babywipes work great for getting the sand off your face and other uses as well.

Beef Jerkey, gum, babywipes, chapstick, OD duct tape, writing utencils and even an old newspaper or mags are a blessing when you get them out in the danger zone.

Getting cards and drawings from the gradeschool kids was the greatest though. The letters they wrote were very encouraging. I always took the time to write back.

BigJake - ArmySon and John Shirley were both TFLers who enlisted (ArmySon re-enlisted) after 9/11. We've got a few other THRers who have been called to active duty too.

DVDTracker,

Thanks for the link! I requested to receive addresses for Marine and Army Infantry or field artillery units.

Much, much appreciated.
