Ok so I went shooting last night....
I just got a case of ammo 9mm
(looks slightly bigger than what I use to shoot)
(dont ask what kinda ammo it is because it has
some kind of arabic lettering on the box and bullet)
so I loaded a magazine cocked the gun back
and aimed....
I pull the trigger and nothing.....
the hammer goes back to normal....so I pull it again and it fires....

please tell me whats goin on ...
my gun is shootin like its on double shot or something..
after I Fired the gun I cocked it back and the shell came out...

it didnt even eject the shell :(

if any1 knows whats goin on please help...

Buy different ammo. Repeat. If it works 86 the weird stuff. If it hiccups, take two aspirin and see a smith in the morning.

yea thats what Im thinking it looks harder n stronger...
I mean It worked fine with the other ammo....lol

also my gun has a decocker, would that have anything to do with this???

thanks ..

so..now that I did a little more research about this...I think im going to be trading this ammo to some one on here if any1 is interested lol...

because I read that some one accually ruined there gun using hard primed ammo :(

luckily I only shot a few rounds but anyways...thanks alot guys for the help...

OFF TO THE TRADE THREAD for ME :D

If it were sub-gun ammo wouldn't the slide have cycled with excessive force? He said it failed to cycle at all.

I haven't seen this in awhile but it sounds like Egyptian 9mm you have. When you say bigger do you mean the overall length? The Egyotian ammo had a gretaer OAL but would still fit in guns designed for milspec ammo like your Taurus. The ammo was too long to fit in a S&W mag but you could fire it if you single loaded it. It did have hard primers as I recall.

Your Taurus is a great gun. I've had one since 1988 and have put thousands of rounds through it. I carried it at work for 5-6 years so the round count has to close to 10000. The only problem I had was the rear sight leaf broke (Mine has adjustable sights). Taurus replaced it under the warranty and the turn around time was about 10 days.

PS Some of the so called sub gun ammo I've fired actually had lower velocities than standard ammo. that doesn't mean it had lower pressure though.

wow didnt realize this was still open...

well yea heres what happened..
when I loaded the gun (cocked it back)
and pulled the trigger I heard the click but nothing happened...
and the gun did not recock itself..
BUT when I pulled the trigger again (hard pull)
it fired but did not eject shell...

I was thinking maybe it could be my pin??
maybe some one here had this problem prior to me...

thanks...

alright well a nice guy on here traded me some 9mm winchester whitebox 115gr FMJ's for my ammo and I will be trying those soon..

will get back to you guys on how they work out for me...

thanks...

Cheap ammo, especially the kind that has "some kind of arabic lettering on the box and bullet" is NEVER a bargain. For your own safety, I would avoid this kind of stuff.

yea I can see that now...
I still need to go shooting to try this win ammo out just never got the time...
and what do you mean for my safety? like "hey the bullet didnt shoot " durrr "let me aim down at my foot and pull the trigger again" LOL i sure do hope you dont mean that

I don't think that's what he meant, no. What he was referring to is that any strange and unknown ammo (including other peoples reloads) is far more prone to less than optimal manufacturing process, and is therefore more likely to have either malfunction or at the very least unexpected results which could be potentially damaging to your firearm and dangerous to yourself.

You have to shot the gun and see if it was the ammo. If not you'll be messing with the balance between; the Beretta guys and the Taurus guys.

The war will not be toppeled from the inside.

If your still having a problem with new ammo, you'll be the first.

ok Ill let you guys know how the ammo goes.
Taurus is a great company and I dont want to have to send the gun back saying
that theres a pin malfunction lol...

but thanks for the help every1 :D
