It doesn't matter anymore; they have closed the poll. They closed it so soon as we started voting in numbers in favor of guns.

I think I just puked in my mouth after reading that article. The ignorance of some people is amazing. It borders on mentally disabled IMO.

One of the poll answers
Yes. Guns are deadly - they too easily end up in the hands of some who can't handle them.

I think they meant to say "some who shouldn't handle them", apparently they are handling them all too well.

Here's what I have never understood though; the logic of gun control seems to be that you can let violent offenders out on parole or after rather short sentences, but it's ok because they'll only commit another crime if they get a hold of a firearm ... and those gun control laws will stop that from happening.

Why don't you just keep the violent offenders in prison until they've done their time and been rehabilitated? If you can't trust them with a gun, do you really trust them to wander about freely in society?

Up until the 1968 GCA if you weren't in prison or a mental institute you could legally own a firearm. Heck, you could have one shipped straight to your door. Have things gotten better or worse since then?

Just voted.

Stil 66-31.

Would be nice if the pollsters would spell "Ammendment" properly.

"This thread is expired."

Next time post on ar15.com with "firemission" in the title of the thread. Then watch as Hannibal, Face, Murdock, and B.A. tc of b.

This is probably one of the best things I've ever read regarding Felons, +1 to this.

It's all about money. Our current systems of incarceration simply cost too much to keep every criminal behind bars for as long as it takes. Also, our so-called "rehabilitation" techniques, if present at all, are mostly ineffective. Lastly, criminals serve the time they were "sentenced" which has nothing to do with time they need to be "rehabilitated".

The people of NYC deserve what they get if they truly believe this stuff. Its all about the evil gun runners from outside poor, innocent little New York City. Wah, wah, wah.

It's an NYC rag; did anyone really expect any different results (regardless of the actual votes?)

What I found funny though, was the shellacking the "journalist" (my apologizes to journalists) was taking in the comments.
