hanks for the info. never experienced trigger slap, dont want to try it.
I don't think you'll have the chance. Century stopped using their slap-prone FCGs over 2 years ago.

The alternative is an original Polish military barrel, chrome-lined, as used in the guns put together by an outfit called High Standard and sold by Atlantic Firearms, among others. Currently the Atlantic web site shows both wire-folder and fixed-stock Tantals with the Polish barrel for $619.

That's the way to go. Absolutely stay away from the CAI Tantal, no sense in gambling when you don't have to.

List of my CAI Tantal issues: 1) crooked, yes the barrel was installed crooked, badly canted to the right. 2) no chrome, helps with the corrosive ammo 3) key holed, hence accuracy sucked 4) poor rivets, bent and heads not formed.

The Interarms ones use orginial barrels and should be g2g.

And the Arsenal SLR-106FR is 10X the weapon either Tantal clone is. Save it, then save up for the Interarms Tantal ($619) OR look at the Ohio Rapidefire's fixed stock Bulgarian Ak-74 ($649). 5.45 is too cheap to not stock up on and have a rifle to shoot it in.

I just got a century aes 10b and it had one of their craptacular century fcg in it. Replaced it soon as i seen it.

Well, that is alarming. Century hasn't used its own FCGs in years. Guess they've run out of Tapco G2s.

what are the chances of a polish tantal shooting a squib? will an oversize bore have higher risk of squibs and then a kaboom?

Just got my Century Polish Tantal, and man is it beautiful. Not only that, I haven't experienced a keyholing yet (didn't expect to) and the accuracy is good for an iron sighted weapon.

I am very pleased.

MIL-DOT:

I've only been an active plinker for a year, but starting last winter have read lots, quite often, on about six gun websites.

As for newer imported Russian Wolf/Bear/Tiger x39, .223 etc (or old Bulgarian x54R) ammo, has anybody in either Congress or the Senate already begun a campaign or bill to prohibit or put large import duties on such ammo?

Even if relations with Russia do not change (do not worsen) what is likely to happen in the next two years regarding foreign ammo, given the "Hanoi Jane" types (Pelosi etc) and others in our government?
Used Mini 14, 30, SKS, MN 44.

Hey everyone. I recently purchased an AMD-65 and I have a question. I want to replace the wire folding stock with an AK Strikeforce Collapsible Side Folding Buttstock. Is this possible or am i stuck with the wire stock?
Thanks

Pretty much all the cheap 5.45x39 ammo is corrosive, having the chrome barrel is large plus IMHO.

--wally.

Take the flash hider off and insert a 5.45 round, bullet first in the muzzle, if the case neck touches the muzzle you have an out of spec barrel, accuracy will suck and it will key hole. I bought mine from J&G sales in Prescott, performed this check when i got it and it failed, i'm waiting for my replacement

Doesn't anyone look at post dates?

You are stuck with the wire stock. The AMD-65 is the only AK that uses that type of stock, and it's not interchangeable with any other AK stock.
