I have several guns in my collection that are high polished blue. I have tried different kinds of oil (rem-oil, Ezox, Militec Wilson), and they all leave a rainbow effect ...kinda like oil in a parking lot when it rains. It there a type or brand of oil that I can put a thin film on and it will not turn colors and get streaky looking?
Thanks

Try something new.
Do not oil the exteriors.
Put on a very thin even coat of paste wax and buff with a shoe brush.
Lasts longer, protects better than any oil. even from things like holster wear.
Not total armor by any meanse but works very well, even in a salt spray environment.

Why do I get the feeling that your guns are cleaner than mine??

This is why I have a love/hate relationship with blues steel. I love my glock for th fact that all I have to do is hose it off and it's good to go. My Smith revolvers, or Browning BAR and Auto-5 need to look like they are getting ready for an Ichiro Nagata photo shoot. I'm just particular that way about polished blued steel. ;)
