polished rugers?

I got a steal on a 357/9mm blackhawk this weekend (< $200). The steel is scratch free and 100%. The aluminum grip frame, extractor housing and the rear sight has most of the black worn on the corners and some scratching. I am wondering how nice it would look if I stripped the aluminum and polished it.

Has anyone done this? pictures? What works best to strip the finish off?

I've seen it several times, if done right it looks like chrome. Not bad looking at all. I'd think that the buffing wheel and rouge would strip the black in the same step as polishing with no chemicals needed.
