Whether or not gun-control is increased has nothing to do with what ABC 7, Yada Yada Newspaper, So-and-so news channel's website, etc etc.'s poll says.

Since when do legislators listen to their constituents? There is a reason I didn't enjoy the poli-sci classes that I took in college.... and the reason is that it's a sham in my opinion.

I still put in the effort and pretend like it all works.... but deep down.... I know it's worthless.

Im willing to bet that it has an impact on the news media and what kind of stories they carry. That is a pretty big victory as the media is a primary force in shaping public opinion.

I voted. I agree with many others here that these polls mean very little. However, DEPEND on it that if the gun control side won, there would be an ABC news story trumpeting how a majority of Americans want more gun control. At least we can take that away from them.
It's almost comical to imagine that they'd have a story explaining how over three quarters of the respondents to their poll voted AGAINST more gun control. :)
