Poll for the revolver guys

Which action type do you prefer? When I carry a revolver its a pocket gun a 442 smith which is a DAO.

I really can't answer this poll.

95% of the time my belt gun is a semiauto, and my pocket & purse guns are DAO Centennials.

If I'm carrying a revolver on my belt, it may be DAO (PC13) or it may be a conventional DA revolver, but machs nichs, as I'm not going to shoot it SA anyway...

(Besides, if it was a "Poll for revolver shooters", why include option #4? :scrutiny: )

When i carry a wheelie for CCW then its a hammerless ruger when its hunting its a doubleaction/singleaction

I carry a double action revolver 98% of the time. The rest off the time I carry a DAO revolver.I very rarely use single action on any of my wheelguns,99.5% I fire double action.

When I shoot for fun, it's in the DA mode. Still, I like to have the option of Sa when I want to fool around (and have fun).

I replied to the poll because I am an ardent revolver fan, but I carry semi-autos most of the time for CCW. I shoot a revolver in competition and I always shoot them double action. The last three revolvers I packed were hammerless Smiths. Two of them were .38 Specials and the third was a Centennial in .32 HR Magnum. I really regret selling that .32...argh I want it back.

I carry a 2.5" S&W Model 66 or a 3" S&W Model 66 F-Comp. I never thumb cock 'em and shoot 'em SA. I've taught myself to shoot 'em both pretty darn well DA out to 25 yards. Dennis

BUG is a 'hammerless' J-frame. However, I often carry a revolver as a primary, off duty, and when I do it is a traditional double-action Model 15.

I carry a double action revolver most of the time for my concealed gun. I like single action revolvers, but do not own one at this time. I was wanting a Ruger Vaquero with birdshead grip, but I got some negative responses when I posted a question about them.

I would like to get a Taurus CIA for pocket carry at some point. I would also like to have a SA revolver in .45LC. If not the Vaquero, them maybe a Cimmaron Thunderer. Who knows? There are just too many to choose from!

I carry a DAO revolver (S&W 640-1), there is no way anyone could ever argue that I cocked the hammer and it went off accidentally.

The only DA revo I have is a cheapy Rohm/RG snubby .38Spl. And if it was my hat, I couldn't hit the ground with it.

That being said, give me a Vaquero, and LOOKOUT! And I am fairly decent with my Single-Six, too.

Depends on the occasion... I am a good guy and if I were going to have a dedicated carry gun, I'd want it to be a hammerless DAO with as smooth a DA trigger as possible.

If I were a bad guy or a good guy in a bad situation, I suppose I'd like to be able to elevate the threat by cocking the hammer and asking the person the question again. :p

If a target revolver, I'd want it to probably be a DA/SA of the Dan Wesson variety as that is what I am most used to... that sort of rolling trigger thing.

Give me a single action almost every time. The gun I carry the most is a Ruger Birds Head Vaquero with a 3-3/4 inch barrel. Just can't seem to leave it home.
