I would like input on a poly .45. Durable/ uber-reliable, accurate, and will not be a safe queen - it will see a lot of rounds through it. HD and cold weather carry, does not need to be a compact frame.

naturally i am gonna go with the xd, i have 2 xd's and i love em. 13+1 is awesome, they are accuarte, reliable, and fun to shoot. i have over 6000rds through one of my xd's and i couldn't be happier.

also check out the ruger p345, it is the least expensive gun that i own but it is the most accurate handgun that i own. it is a bit less expensive than the xd, and you are gonna be limited to 8+1 and it is a da/sa so for those reasons i would personally go for the xd, but the ruger would be a close second.

poly .45? i bet you already know.

of course it would be the xd. mine is the tactical and it sure is sweet. only got about 650 rounds tru it so far, just got it july 4. not a problem one.

One more for XD. I got a 5' tactical with maybe 1200 rounds through it and not a malfunction yet, even not clean and in sub zero weather. Super accurate, 13+1, I like the safeties too. I like the XD.

My HK USPf in 45ACP has seen in excess of 40K, and it is more accurate now then when new I think. I have added a Jarvis bbl with O ring to the mix to shoot lead, as the price of jacketed bullets has gone up, like that is new news...

HK 45. This will be one of my next handguns. It has great ergonomics, but the trigger needs work. HK's are solid, and over engineered. I always liked over engineered.

My choice also is the XD followed by the Ruger 345. Both are great values and great firearms both in reliability and accuracy. I'd choose the 345 but for the capacity. 14 rds of 45acp is hard to beat.
