Got my first m1 got it for just under a grand in like new cond.How did i do ??????????????,how do poly rate aganst a new springfield????

My Dad has one. It rattles and doesn't have the best fit and finish, but it works well. If you are happy with the cost, enjoy it.

I passed up on a minty one with a really cool figured stock at a local pawn shop for $799......I just didn't have the money to blow.

They're fine rifles, but that sounds high.

Saw one at a gunshow last week for 800.00. Didn't really get a good look at it though. From what I understand those rifles sometimes have soft bolts. So I would personally check the headspace on it. The easy fix is to replace the Chinese bolt with a USGI piece.

$1k does sound a bit high for a polytech. Does it have stampings on the heel or the receiver, or the side? The heel-stamped ones are worth a little more money. For that kind of $$$, I hope they threw in some more goodies, like mags & ammo.

The Poly's are fine rifles and are on par with a standard SA, Inc. M1A.

I lucked out and picked one up for under $500, replaced the bolt with a TRW.

It now gets 1.5 MOA constantly.
