This little tidbit is from the back room at the Arsenal Museum. It is a set of Pommel holsters for a Walker Colt. I'm guessing these are about as rare as the guns themselves.

I have no idea what something like this is worth but I'm guessing it woulds be substantial.

It is the rare piece of leather that survives that long. Just this week tossed out a bunch of 20 year old leather pieces that had dry rotted and cracked when bent. I am surprised on how well rayskin grips have endured on the swords that I own. Maybe it is the chemicals they were treated with.

This sword can be dated within seven years, something very hard to do with a Victoria Rex sword

The leather scabbard is much more delicate than the grips.

Those holsters tell you something: the Walker was not intended as a belt gun. The book "Packing Iron" shows these holsters made in pairs, attached with a strap with a hole in the center. The pommel went through the middle.

If those holsters had a Government Issue Walker in each, the value of the whole would be amazing indeed!
