Anyone ever use one of these? Are they a good scope for a 7.6x39 Ak? How durable are they? Do they keep zero? How is the field of view? How about clarity?

I know it's a lot to ask from a $170 scope, but it looks like it could be a good scope.

IMHO, best scope for an AK!

Just make sure it includes the rear rubber eyepiece -- its hard to get the US style cheek-weld on an scoped AK, but the rubber eyepiece-weld works great for me.

The illuminated reticle uses a pair of AG3/LR44 batteries which are pretty easy to find, but I've never really needed an illuminated reticle.

Yes. It's a good scope for the AK. I have one. Shop around though. You might be able to get one at a little less. I forget where I got mine (about three years ago), but I know I didn't pay anywhere near that much. Of course the inflation might be putting the price through the roof.

Good scope. Glass is of sufficient quality, but don't expect any amazing coatings on it, like on a $1000+ Leupold/Nighforce/Meopta/S&B/Etc. optics. That said, I'd rate it on par to the entry-level ~$200 Leupolds/Nikons/Bushnells/Vortex/Etc.

Up-sides:
Durability is outstanding. Housing is thick cast aluminum, mount is even thicker cast aluminium. Holds zero indefinitely, side-clamp offers a within-1MOA return-to-zero.

Battery type is the common watch D-357 type battery that you will find at any Wallgreen's.

Field of view at 100yards is fairly wide. I'd guess 30-40 feet wide.

Siminov ranging reticle is good for getting a close field range estimate. Ballistic drop compensator in the reticle is spot on for the 122gr round. Zero at 100 yards/meters on the top chevron, and the other two give you ballistic solutions for 200 and 300 meter shots.

Clicks on the turrets are very crisp and rock-solid. You feel confident it has moved 1 click and won't move any more. 1 click = 1/2 MOA shift. I kind of like it better than 1 = 1/4 MOA, to be honest.
I think the Leupold I have has mushier clicks than the PSOP.

Down-sides:

WEIGHT! The scope weighs in at 1.5lbs or so. Think of it like adding another loaded mag to your AK...the feeling is fairly close.

Unforgiving eye relief. You have to be right within it's 70mm +/-5mm of the eye relief to see the reticle. I've noted even a cheap chineese Osprey/NCStar scope has better eye relief characteristics at 4x than the PSOP.

Might be possible to bump the turrets when moving aggressively with the rifle.

Neutral:
Chin weld. Learn to love it.
Scope snaps to your eye when you shoulder the gun. Just stand normally, bring the rifle to shoulder and *BAM* you're looking right through the scope.
Does not obscure your iron sights. Drop your eye level down an inch, and you're looking through the irons. How about that for a pair of BUIS?!

Overall:

I'd give it a 7/10.
Pro:
Durable
Reliable
Good Reticle
Easy-to-find batteries
Price. A similar set-up from a US-Optics manufacturer would probably run $300-$400

Con:
Heavy
Unforgiving eye relief
