Possession of 'assault' weapons in Connecticut

I am looking for research information about possessing assault weapons in Connecticut. So far, all I have been able to find is the CT State Code pertaining to assault weapons (definition, penalties, etc.). I was hoping to find examples of cases for possession of assault weapons, the outcomes, and also opinions of politicians, etc. on the current CT gun bans. This is for a paper I am writing or maybe not writing, if I can't get enough sources. Any help would be completely appreciated!

You are trying to find out the penalties for possession of an "assault weapon"?
Most politicians don't seem to even understand what an assault weapon really is. Here in CT at least. Even weapons banned under the "assault weapons ban" are not really assault weapons except in the definitions they wrote in their law.
