Possible legal repercussions of Stamford shooting

Stamford had/has a number of major corporations that contribute to tax base - that is why it registers as "rich"

shooter claims a knife was pulled on him and he drew weapon to defend self. Knife wielder did not stop coming at him, so he fired.

Shooter himself was a gunshot victim 1 year ago. He cited his limp/inability to quickly move away from the fight he was caught up in as reason he felt need to defend himself.

Basically he appears to be saying he feared for his safety.

FYI - the bar where the fight broke out and spilled into street with garbage cans being thrown and other mayhem amongst that group has been closed. Liquor permittees will only be allowed to re-open with a new business plan (i.e. attract a different crowd)

Stamford CT listing......

The online article saying Stamford CT is the US's richest city is from CBS TV's Moneywatch, dated 02/22/2013.
This has been disputed though, by CT residents & journalists who claim CBS news is using real estate data & figures from different neighborhoods & tax bases, not just Stamford.
The Moneywatch article states Stamford CT has the highest rate of wealthy residents; 17.3%.

As noted, there are a few major corporations there too so that may add to the perceived amount of wealth.
If you go around the urban/downtown areas though it's no Vail CO or Beverly Hills. :uhoh:
