I had my local shop order me a Romanian TT-33 for me and recieved it a week ago. After a complete cleaning of gun and mags I have noticed something. With slide removed and an empty magazine locked in I can push down on the magazine and it ejects. I checked the mag catch and its not worn down. I have the 2 original mags with the gun and bought 4 more from AIM and all 6 do the same thing. When fully assembled the mag does lock in but I don't want the mag ejecting when I goto fire it.I'm wondering if I should get a mag release with more material so I can fit it to my pistol but I'm not sure where I can get one. The other thing is that it could be the spring. Does Wolff make a complete spring kit fot the Tokarevs that replace every single spring?

Could someone take off their slide and push down on the mag to see if it ejects? I'm wondering if anyone else has this happen with their TT-33s, Romanian or not.

Mine does it too. This is why many European pistols have the heel mounted mag catch.

Does it shoot fine though without dumping the magazine? I just noticed that if I leave the sear/hammer assy. in the pistol and try it it does not seem to pop out. Seems mabey that assy. keeps the magazine pressed forward.

With the magazine inserted in an assembled pistol, can you easily pull the mag out without hitting the release? If not, then don't worry....if so, either modifying the retention hole in the mag body, and/or reshaping/sharpening the catch would be in order....use a roll-pin punch for split-pin removal, or a homebrewed version of such....
