Well in regards to my range I keep my targets low and feel as if the bullets hit the ground before going into the woods. This responsibility lies with each one of us as shooters to be safe and know where our bullets are going. If hammerklavier feels safe with his range then that is on him.. I am always thinking of ways to make my range safer not just for me but for my family that live around me. Everyone is entitled to their opinion..
And i thought i had nice ranges on my property...very impressive pics guys. Oh no i also have trees before my natural backstop that get shot at...oh wait...i dont care. As a land owner who has millions of trees, im not worried about the 50 or so that catch some lead. When they die ill just have more firewood.
Funny how cutting down a bunch of trees to make a nice backstop, bench, shed, etc. is OK but shooting at trees that are standing as a backstop is a no no.
This is my range in Garvin county, OK. Currently there are provisions for targets at 50 yards, 78 yards and 125 yards. The berms are at 78 and 125 yards.
The place is a work in progress. There will be an additional berm at 200 yards. There will also be a new shelter with a full size concrete pad. There is an old oil field mud pond between the berms that will become a pond.
Here is a close up of my rifle backstop(not the prettiest thing but it works), big gong for pistols, tree for rimfire rifles, and a few cheap spinners.
Here a some pics of my home-made shooting table. It is sturdy, very light, and was pretty cheap to make. It works well for me.
I like how it's set up. (As long as their are no pistol and rifle shooters shooting at the same time)
I cant believe you're shooting at those dead trees though. lol
One of these days Im gonna have a pic of my home range for this thread, and a pic of a real reloading bench for the reloading bench thread by golly...yall wait and see.
