Just two of 'em, for now.

Both "scanner plonk" images, where one plonks the gun on the scanner flatbed, then captures the resultant image for posterity. I will have a .357 Magnum levergun some day, come hell or high water!

Darn. There are a lot of nice revolvers in here.

slick6 - Love the Pythons. That blue 4" in the middle is beautiful.

M2: You have a real nice Colt .357 there! I really like the factory original Colt target stocks on it and, with the wide target hammer! It's also great to know that your father had previously owned this revolver!:)

Janitor: Thanks for your compliment on my Python's! You also have a great looking S&W 627-1 and, your picture is pristine perfect! How to you like the unfluted cylinder? For me, I'd prefer to have a fluted cylinder! I think that since the Model 627-1 is an offshoot of the original Model 27, that a fluted cylinder would be more classic looking! Still, the 627-1 is a beautiful revolver-and, is a gun that I do not yet own! Maybe I'll get lucky someday to find one? :what:

Thanks very much.

To tell the truth, up until just over a week ago I was unaware this model even existed. A friend at work showed me a few photos of some stuff he had for sale. I couldn't really finding anything on them anywhere. So before I had seen it, I started a thread (http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=186458) trying to find out what it might be worth, and see if I could find out a little bit about it.

I only picked it up yesterday so I haven't shot it yet. I kind of have mixed emotions about the unfluted cylinder. The trigger is amazing, but you can feel how heavy the cylinder is in double action. Very easy to understand what farscott was talking about with the high mass of the cylinder. And I also think it's a bit odd that it doesn't have the fluted cylinder of the 27.

But on the other hand, it looks so nice -

Janitor: There's no doubt about it! You did get a virtually new 627-1(Looks virtually unfired!)! It definately is an attractive revolver! There must not be a lot of these guns around(At least I have never seen any!)? Along with having a fluted cylinder, I think that S&W should have also offered the 627 with the classic short shrouded barrel! At least, that smooth unfluted cylinder ought to be easier to clean-up, than would a fluted cylinder, after shooting your 627-1!
