On my last couple of shooting sessions with my Ruger P97, I have noticed an unusual "quirk" that wasn't there before (or at least if it was there I didn't notice it before).
After the gun has fired and the hammer has been recocked for another shot, when I'm squeezing the trigger gently to try and get an accurate single action shot, there will be a slight audible "click" and the hammer will move forward perhaps 1/32 of an inch or so, after which a bit more pressure will cause the hammer to fall forward and the gun will fire.
I have as yet experienced no malfunctions with this gun of any kind, but this new occurance does concern me a bit. I would appreciate any input as to why this is happening and what might need to be done about it. Thanks.
