Universal works GREAT!

I have been loading AA#2, BullsEye and AA#7 in my .45 ACP forever.

I was in Bass Pro and picked up some Hogden Universal on a whim. First load, 5.6 gr. under a Remington 230 gr. FMJ w/ Federal 150 primers, first 15 rounds through my Para Ordnance P14-45 LDA @ 15 yards OFF HAND (blame the pistol) and I could not believe my eyes. I shot the Xring out with no fliers. Recoil tamed. Flash tamed. Accuracy incredible.

Subjective I know... so I shot the same load 15 more times from a bench... I should have saved and phtographed the target for Hogden. They might have paid me for an advertisement... MOA with a .45. A froup under 2". I have NEVER gotten that out anything except the Factory Hornady 200 gr XTP +P loads I use as my carry load.

And it is inexpensive powder. I will be buying a case soon. Prices are about to blow up!

Plain :D

i just loaded about 800 45 acps with 185 gr lead swc over 5 gr of red dot they shoot great in my springfield 1911 , a buddy gave me a big can of red dot a few years ago i will buy more when this is gone! *csa*

CLAYS IN LEE PRO 1000????

I am looking for a powder to use in my Lee that is clean, cheap, and accurate, for target competition from 7 to 50 yards.
Anyone have experience with Clays in a Lee Pro 1000 progressive? I heard it may be a problem because of the large flakes bridging.
Also heard that sufficient velocity may be harder to get than with Titegroup.

VV N310. A little more expensive, very consistent, clean, accurate, and very low recoil. You can download there reloading manual off there site for free.

POWDER

I USE TITLEGROUP--4.5gr POWDER WITH A RN200gr BULLET 45. NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. TRY THAT.
